Moldavite

High quality and genuine moldavite.  From Chlum nad Malší sandpit, Czech Republic.  We recommend mounting this piece on a small acrylic base with mounting putty, as pictured.  The base is 1.5” x 1.5" and included with purchase.

Moldavite is a unique green tektite, a natural glass formed from the heat of a meteorite impact about 15 million years ago in what is now Central Europe.  The majority of the moldavite currently available on the market is from the Czech Republic.  The value of moldavite has increased significantly over recent years due to popularization on TikTok.  Mineralogically speaking, moldavite is not considered a mineral because it has no crystalline structure.  Rather, it is classified as a metamorphic rock, and not a crystal.
